Wildflower Yoga

Welcome to my website and blog!

I will joyfully be sharing some yoga tips, stories of love and optimism, healthy food options, ways to relax using art, and life as a twenty-something year old woman.  I have found so many aids in developing the spiritual and physical practice of yoga and want to spread my love for the ancient tradition!  I also believe in True Love.  Love that can and will conquer anything.  I have been given that Great Love from above, and have found my earthly soulmate. With all the darkness and hatred in the world, I am here to remind everyone that love exists.  There is hope, mercy, and there is always L O V E.

Yoga has helped me to express love, find compassion, and has been a true gift to me in the last 13 years.  Once I began a regular practice, I truly fell in love and noticed my heart and body opening.  In early 2017, I wrote and released Healing Yoga: Volume 1 to reach people who are curious about yoga and how it can heal the mind, body, and spirit.  As an electronic book, it is available to everyone, just like yoga is accepting to all types of people.  Volume 2 will be completed and ready for purchase by Summer 2018.

In my blog posts, I will go into more gory and perhaps tedious details of my troubles with eating and obsession with controlling food… I believe I am on this Earth to help others.  I am here to spread love where it is lacking and hopefully give hope to anyone struggling.  I went through a lot of ugly things, and if I can help one person see their self-worth, I am content.  I know those hardships only help me to reach out to others and give them hope and love… Without too many details now, I simply hope to provide love for those who are going through the darkness I experienced.  Healthy food does not hurt your body.  It’s all about balance and again, love.

Art soothes my soul.  I am a visual learner and have a gift of seeing color and beauty in almost everything.  I give all that glory to my God.  He speaks to me through nature and color.  My paternal grandmother was an artist, and my mom and sister are extremely talented with their hands.  I, on the other hand, can imagine and see all this creativity, but have trouble portraying what my mind sees.  Acknowledging that has made me a better person, and I have found ways to express my creativity and feel it adequately.  Art is beautiful, inspiring, and healing for the heart.

After studying abroad in Florence, Italy in the Spring of 2010, I feel like my heart opened in a different way.  Since returning to the U.S., I completed my degree at The University of Alabama, met the love of my life and got engaged. I am now living my dream as a [young] yoga teacher!

John is my soulmate, best friend, and other half and proposed to me in the most perfect way, in Florence, Italy overlooking my favorite city in the world.  My now husband and I got married in April 2016 and live in Gadsden, Alabama with our calico cat, Luna Mango, and newly adopted puppy, Lizzie!  In spring of 2017, we suddenly lost our baby black lab, Sarah Belle, who was almost 11 years young.  The following summer, I lost my family cocker spaniel, Henry almost as suddenly.  I share the hardships of these losses and how I try to get through the tough times.

John and I are welcomed our first child, Lucca Bennett on the 2nd of April, 2018!  We are so excited to bring our baby bear into the world and teach him about love, kindness, acceptance, yoga, music, and love him unconditionally.  We adore parenthood, all the hardships and all the sweet joyfulness.

I look forward to sharing my life and all this love, compassion, and imperfection with you!
